This is an indicative estimate and does not bind the managing authority of the Anakainisi Katoikias programme.
All the deadlines and dates of the Anakainisi Katoikias programme (also known as Anakainizo 2026) in one timeline: when the pre-check platform anakainisi.apps.gov.gr opened, when final applications start, and by when the works must be completed. The parameters were finalised by ΚΥΑ 86272/ΕΞ2026 (ΦΕΚ Β' 3058/2026).
The timeline at a glance
- 2 June 2026 — Publication of the ministerial decision (ΚΥΑ 86272/ΕΞ2026) in ΦΕΚ Β' 3058/2026: the terms, rates and limits of the programme are finalised.
- 15 June 2026 — The eligibility pre-check platform (anakainisi.apps.gov.gr) opened on gov.gr — it is already live.
- By 24 August 2026 — Final deadline to issue the eligibility certificate: the pre-check platform stays open until then.
- 1 September 2026 — Submission of final funding applications begins.
- By 31 December 2028 — Final deadline to complete the works (and within 18 months of the inclusion decision — Article 11 §2a).
What opened on 15 June 2026
On 15 June the pre-check platform opened at anakainisi.apps.gov.gr — not yet the final application. In practice, you log in via gov.gr with your TaxisNet credentials and the system checks whether your home and income meet the programme's core criteria (permit year, floor area, energy class, income limits). The pre-check platform stays open until 24 August 2026 — that is your window to issue the eligibility certificate. See exactly how the pre-check works step by step.
The pre-check is the "green light": it tells you whether it is worth moving on to the full file. Before the official pre-check — and afterwards too — you can run an informal estimate of the subsidy you qualify for with our free calculator, in about 3 minutes and with no sign-up.
When applications start
Final applications to join the programme start on 1 September 2026. At this stage you submit the full file: the first ΠΕΑ, the Electronic Building Identity, your income and ownership details, and the technical plan for the works.
The programme budget is 479,796,259.81 € and applications are assessed in priority order. Those who have their documents ready early are in a stronger position.
By when the works must be completed
After approval, the renovation works must be completed within 18 months of the inclusion decision and, in any case, no later than 31 December 2028 (Article 11 §2a of the ΚΥΑ). This is the programme's most critical deadline and worth keeping in mind from the very start of your planning. At the end, a second ΠΕΑ is issued, proving an improvement of at least one energy class — a condition for the subsidy to be paid out.
What to do now
Whatever the current phase of the programme, you can prepare early — see the full preparation guide with the 6 mistakes that cut the subsidy too:
- Run an eligibility check and see whether you meet the criteria.
- Calculate the subsidy that applies to your property.
- Book an engineer for the first ΠΕΑ and the Electronic Building Identity (ΗΤΚ).
- Read the full programme guide.

Leave your email and we'll let you know the moment applications open (1 September 2026).
When does the Anakainizo 2026 platform open?
The eligibility pre-check platform (anakainisi.apps.gov.gr) opened on gov.gr on 15 June 2026 and is already live. You can log in with your TaxisNet credentials and officially check whether your home meets the criteria of the Anakainisi Katoikias programme. Final funding applications start later, on 1 September 2026.
By when must I get the eligibility certificate?
The pre-check platform stays open and the eligibility certificate can be issued until 24 August 2026. This is the first stage of the programme; final funding applications start afterwards, on 1 September 2026. So don't leave the pre-check to the last minute — if you qualify, issue the certificate in good time.
When can I submit a final application?
Final applications to join the programme start on 1 September 2026. The pre-check (from 15 June) and the final application (from 1 September) are two separate steps: the pre-check confirms you are eligible, while the application is where you submit the full file with all supporting documents.
Do I need to rush? Could the budget run out?
The total programme budget is 479,796,259.81 €, but applications are assessed in priority order and funds are limited. That is why it is worth having the basics ready now — ΠΕΑ, Electronic Building Identity (ΗΤΚ), an engineer — so you can submit a file as soon as applications open.
By when must the renovation be completed?
The works must be completed within 18 months of the inclusion decision and, in any case, no later than 31 December 2028 (Article 11 §2a of the ΚΥΑ). Planning the works and finding a contractor is something you can start even before applications open.
